Critical Announcements:
- Instructors: Fall 2009 Courses (6/1/09)
Classes for Fall 2009 have been made available for development for instructors. Student enrollments will be loaded for these classes on August 10.
- Instructors: Announcement Emails Fixed (5/21/09)
Instructors' ability to email an announcement posted in Blackboard to students is working once again. See Course Tools: Announcements > Add Announcement > 4. Email Announcement: check "Email this announcement to all course users."
- Instructors: Student Enrollments
UTC Online is using a new enrollment method in which student enrollments are managed automatically. For instance, when a student drops a class, that student's enrollment will be disabled (not deleted) in the class within one business day. If that student re-enrolls (e.g., pays fees), that student's enrollment will be re-enabled in the class within one business day with all coursework intact.
- Illegal Characters in File Names Can Cause Inaccessible Files
Blackboard allows files with illegal characters in the file name to be submitted to the instructor; however, the instructor often cannot access such files. The fix in this case is for the student to rename the file without the illegal character(s) and resubmit it. Allowed characters in file names are as follows: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, a "-" (dash), and an "_" (underscore). Do not use file names containing the following characters: #, %, ), (, or &. Also, it is highly recommended that file names with spaces, $, and @ characters not be submitted.

UTC Online server maintenance occurs nightly from 3:45 am - 4:15 am. The system may go down during this period. Do not schedule tests or take tests during this period.
